The ESL Industry --> Fast Foward 10 Years
---------------------------------------------------
New research, based on a computer model and conducted by the British Council, shows that half of the world’s population will speak English by the year 2015. That’s in ten years! That means that at least two billion people will begin to learn the language within the next ten years. Is your school ready for this surge in students? The bad news for ESL schools is that it is estimated that by 2050 most of the world’s population will already speak English, and many English schools will suffer a loss in enrollment.
What does this mean for your school? First, it’s important to be in on the rapid rise of ESL learners, and learn to market and promote your school in order to take advantage of the enormous amount of students who will be looking for an English school in the next few years. (Read next month’s newsletter for some tips on this subject) Next, it’s important to plan for the saturation of the market that is surely to come by establishing yourself firmly in the marketplace now.
