IELTS Resources
---------------------------------------------------
There is a wonderful array of resources to choose from when it comes to teaching students about IELTS and EAP (English for Academic Purposes) in general. Many universities provide excellent resources online that help students to avoid common pitfalls when writing academic essays, in particular plagiarism. In Canada, the University of Toronto offers a wide range of information online (www.utoronto.ca/writing/advise.html) and in the UK Andy Gillett at the University of Hertfordshire (www.uefap.co.uk) has put together a very useful portfolio of rules and exercises to guide students through these pitfalls. Both these sites, along with many others of a similar nature, should be pointed out to teachers of IELTS and EAP.
