This posting is for four teachers in a primary school setting. Green Valley teaches all of its classes in the English language in a full immersion mode. All of the texts are English, from publishers in the United States. The job starts at 7 in the morning and ends at 2.30. There are mandatory meetings after school is over every few weeks. Staying a few weeks after the end of the year for planning and inventory is mandatory. There will be a work contract for you to sign on arrival.

Green Valley is looking for someone like you. You posses an education worth sharing. You are well rounded and independent. You know how to take orders and how to work by consensus. You certainly have experience teaching in a primary school setting. You have experience dealing with children and the behaviors common to all classroom settings. You posses both a strong understanding of the English language and also an understanding of Spanish. We are very open to all forms of education and experience, which is why we don't set strict specifications on your qualifications, we understand the best teachers may not have studied to specifically BE teachers.

The rate of pay is a comfortable monthly salary. It can range depending on experience and aptitude but the average should be around or above 5000 lempira a month. At the end of the school year there is a government mandated bonus that equates to 10 percent of your total pay for an entire year. Besides this bonus there are others provided to qualifying applicants. As I am a former teacher of this school I feel I have the authority to say that the pay is nothing to retire on, but very comfortable compared to the average level of income in this country and a person can live and entertain him or herself easily on this salary. After finishing the year you will be reimbursed for your flight to Honduras, with a maximum cap.

Beliz is gorgeous, El Salvador is beautiful, Mexico is a jump away, Costa Rica and all of South America is but a cheap plane ticket away.
The Administration is always available, always cordial and always ready to help. Help finding housing, furniture and incidentals are part and parcel to the Green Valley experience.
There are regular holidays, a summer break and chances for field trips and the like.
