Berlitz is an expanding organization in Turkey. We have Full-Time and Part-Time teaching positions for qualified teachers. Our centers are located in the heart of the art & culture centers (Beyoglu and Suadiye) of Istanbul where you can find many shops, restuarants, bookstores, art galleries, and theaters.

Like all other Berlitz Centers around the world, our teachers are native speakers and college graduates who have TEFL or CELTA certificates. Teachers are trained on the Berlitz Method before they begin teaching.

Berlitz is a customer oriented language school. Its class schedules are based on our students’ needs and demands. Most of the students are from business world hence teaching takes place during the evenings and weekends. Class sizes are 9-12 students at our centers and 12-15 students at company sites. We have over 70 teachers around the world.

In addition to General English, Business English, English for Law, we teach TOEFL and other ESP classes. The teachers are expected to prepare and execute lesson plans, write student progress reports and attend monthly staff meetings.

Compensation: Our compensation structure is based on payment per unit. A unit consists of a two forty minute lessons with two five minutes breaks, totaling 90 minutes. Depending on the level of education, teaching, business and life experience of the teachers, unit pay may vary. On the average, the full-time teachers teach 60 -80 units a month and their salary ranges USD 800,00 to USD 2,000,00 and up, net of taxes. The full time teachers are guaranted minumum 40 units per month. The teachers can teach as many unit as they want and are paid extra for additional units, that they tought.

Benefits: Berlitz pays the income taxes of its teachers and provides national health care benefits to all its full-time teachers, once they obtain work visa and residency permit. Moreover, international travel bonuses at certain amounts and two week paid vacation are given to our teachers when the contact for first year is succesfully completed and a new one is signed. Berlitz also pays half of the expenses made in Turkey by the teacher in obtaining work visa and residency permit upon succesful completion of the process.

Lodging: We have some company guest apartments for qualified teachers on both Asian and European sides close to our centers. Depending on availability, qualifications and seniority of the teachers at Berlitz the teacher may be assigned to one of these apartments. Otherwise the teacher will be given monthly housing support , so he/she can rent a flat. We work with real estate agents who can help you to find a place that you like.
