About Cambridge School of English:
We are a small, friendly and professional language school with over ten years of experience. Every year we employ English native speakers most of whom stay over for two or more years enjoying the work and the place. In our school English is the only language used in class, which facilitates the teaching process for foreign teachers. Teaching is to children from the age of seven, teenagers and adults on all levels from beginners to the Proficiency in English exam. Our teachers are provided with syllabuses for every course. The lessons are based on coursebooks of mainly Macmillan, Oxford UP, Cambridge UP and Longman editions, games and materials provided by DOS, an immense number of our own unique resources and creativity of our teachers. We have an extensive stock of methodology books, vocabulary and grammar resources, videos, flashcards, board games and conversation cards in the staff room. The Director of Studies coordinates all work and provides help in methodology. There are regular teacher training seminars where teachers can expand their knowledge of the art of teaching, learn new games and activities, as well as share their own ideas. The majority of classes take place during the afternoons and early evenings. There is a maximum of 10 students in class. Our students are friendly, well-motivated to learn and eager to participate in our pub nights, conversation club and celebrations of various holidays, they are also interested in the culture of our teachers’ countries. The students enjoy our school and most of them return every year after summer holidays to continue studying English with us. All this together with the great team of friendly, dynamic and outgoing teachers creates a truly pleasant work environment.
The school is located in the centre of Wroclaw, the fourth biggest city in Poland, with a beautiful medieval old town, a lot of rivers and parks. Wroclaw has a great location in the south-west of Poland with short and easy access by public transport to the mountains (there are hiking, climbing and skiing opportunities), other interesting Polish cities and neighbouring countries. Within a few hours you can reach Berlin, Prague and Vienna.
Wroclaw itself has a lot to offer to sociable and active people: there are many pubs, clubs, restaurants, cinemas, theatres, art galleries and fitness clubs. There are numerous language schools and international firms employing foreigners, especially from Ireland, UK and the USA, so it is easy for our teachers to socialise with their compatriots.
Interested applicants should mail or e-mail a full CV (including the nationality, qualifications and experience) with professional references, a cover letter outlining their skills and a recent photograph to:
