We are looking for two native speakers of English to become teachers at our small (maximum class size of 12!), friendly school located in the centre of Poland in Lodz to start in the academic year 2005-6 which begins in October. Positions are initially available for one school year but can be extended on satisfactory results.

A minimum of 20hrs/week is guaranteed but up to 26hrs/week are available in addition to private tuition before classes begin.

Teaching is at all levels from Beginners to Proficiency and ages range from children to adults and many students take courses preparing them for the Cambridge exams (FCE, CAE and CPE). All classes take place between 4pm and 9pm each weekday with weekends kept free!

The pay allows for a comfortable lifestyle with an hourly rate of 25PLN (netto). Living costs and food are very cheap here, particularly fresh or local produce, and though teaching in Poland will not make you rich, it can let you comfortably live in and travel around a country undergoing a very interesting and historic cultural transition.

The school has all the modern facilities including televisions, videos and DVD players, CD/cassette players for each room, a small but growing library accompanied by some magazines, a subscription to the UK version of Newsweek, kitchen and bathroom facilities and many other benefits. Study materials include several full sets of coursebooks with workbooks, resource packs and audio material for every level, allowing a flexible approach to teaching within the overall framework of following a set syllabus.

A newly-refurbished flat for one person or for a couple, only 5 minutes’ walk from the school, is available if desired for the successful applicant(s).
Additionally, as a bonus, on completion of a satisfactory full year’s teaching, teachers can use an apartment situated at the Polish sea-side for a week to ten days during the summer rent-free.

These positions are ideal for any suitable candidates who are already in Poland or Lodz, or who will be here in the near future, since it would be beneficial for all if an applicant could visit the school, observe some lessons and get a feel for the school, but this is not compulsory.

Applications from all native speakers are welcome, but all candidates must have finished high-school at the very least. Newly-qualified TEFL teachers are encouraged to apply, but those with both experience and certification will be preferred. Experience of teaching Cambridge exam courses would also be a major plus.
