Vacancy: Native English-Speaking Primary/Elementary School TeacherIn 2005, the “Stiftung Evanglische Jugendhilfe” founded the “Dreisprachige Internationale Grundschule” (The Trilingual International Primary/Elementary School) for classes 1-4 in Magdeburg, Germany. The school was initially founded with two classes: one English–German class and one French–German class.
The conceptual characteristics of this primary school are as follows:
•Educational and extra curricular activities delivered through German, English and French by native speakers in accordance with the principals of Immersion.
•All-day schooling
•No social, religious or cultural segregation
•Opportunities for early education
•Diaconic concept, approach, and mission
During the school-year, the school is open daily from 6:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. We employ both teachers and classroom support staff who work closely together as a team to coordinate the classes of twenty.
We are currently looking to fill the following positions:
•Beginning on April 1, 2006 we are looking to employ for a native English-speaking primary/elementary school teacher.
•For the 2006/07 school year we are looking to employ a native English-speaking primary/elementary school teacher.
•For the 2007/08 school year we are looking to employ a native French-speaking primary/elementary school teacher.
What do we expect?
He or She:
•should have primary/elementary teaching qualifications and degrees (eg: Lehramt Grundschule, Masters of Elementary Education, or equivalent)
•should have relevant experience working with primary/elementary children
•should be able to work flexibly in a team, be full of ideas and be a well-rounded individual
•should have a variety of relevant functional skills and experiences
•should be open-minded, respectful towards the children and cooperative with parents
•should be interested in on-going further educational training
