The well established private language school in Silesia, southern Poland, seeks TWO teachers (EU passport holders) for the coming schoolyear 2006/07. As we offer fully furnished apartament for two persons (one bedroom plus living room and kitchen annexe), the couple or two good friends is preferred as they will be sharing accomodation. However, two people not knowing each other before and willing to live with somebody they hadn't known before is also an option.
The work starts at the beginning of September 2006 and finishes in June 2007 with possibility of extension after that time (as most of native teachers did).
Students are taught at all levels from Beginners to Proficiency and ages range from children to adults and many students take courses preparing them for the Cambridge exams (FCE, CAE and CPE). Native teachers are responsible for teaching starting only from pre-intermediate level. What makes teaching in our school specially pleasant is a size of the class which cannot exceed ten students. All classes take place between 4pm and 9pm each weekday.
The pay allows for a comfortable lifestyle with an hourly rate of roughly 25PLN (net). Living costs and food are very cheap and though teaching in Poland will not make you rich, it can let you comfortably live in and travel around the country as well as Europe. The cheap airline airport with flights covering most of Europe is 50 min drive from the school.
The school has all the modern facilities including Internet access, TVsets, videos, CD/cassette players for each room, decent size teachers' library accompanied by some magazines. Study materials include several full sets of coursebooks with workbooks, resource packs and audio material for every level, allowing a flexible approach to teaching within the overall framework of following a set syllabus.
These positions are ideal for any suitable candidates who are already in Poland, or who will be here in the near future, since it would be beneficial for all if an applicant could visit the school, observe some lessons and get a feel for the school, but this is not compulsory.
Although EU citizenship is much preferred, applicants from other counties are also welcome. The assisrtance and in all red tape involved will be provided, however the cost of getting work permit and visa will be deducted from their salaries.
