Come and work as a language assistant in Germany!
The Hermann-Lietz-Schule, Haubinda, Germany is looking for young native English speakers(aged 18-24) to work for an academic year as English Language Assistants, starting end of August / beginning of September 2006.

Haubinda is a small, rural boarding and day school for pupils aged from 7 to 18. More information about the school can be found at www.haubinda.de

The only qualification required is the ability to have fun and a willingness to work with young people, oh and at least basic German is really important, too. Language skills improve greatly over the year but someone without the ability to communicate in German would find integration here difficult.

This post would be suitable for someone looking to take a year out before going to college / university.

Responsibilities of the job include helping out in class and giving one-on-one lessons to weaker pupils.

Assistants play a large role in the life of the school and are actively encouraged to take part in extra-curricular activities, which range from sport to baking to metal-work to choir.

An allowance of 200 Euro a month is provided, which isn't too bad when you consider that accommodation, all meals and extra-curricular activities including trips are provided for free. Onsite internet access is also available.

Applications should be sent by email to Sara Notzke: haubinda@lietz-schule.de (subject: application for assistantship). Please do not reply using the link on this website because it is not always possible for me to access the reply site.

In this you should describe your previous schooling, language skills, achievements, interests, previous visits to Germany (if relevant) and you should attach a recent photo.

Closing date for applications is May 30 2006
