Director of Studies
Learnship Networks is looking for a Director of Studies to head our international teaching team at our main offices in Cologne.

Learnship Networks GmbH is an e-learning startup company headquartered in Cologne, Germany. We support a new way of teaching and learning language through our platform at www.learnship.de and www.learnkids.de. LearnShip is the first European-wide internet language school specializing in live online instruction, connecting students and teachers from all over the world by video-conference in an interactive online classroom.

Our freelance teachers are located across Europe and are able teach from the convenience of their homes. The Director of Studies leads our internal teacher support team and is responsible for all external teachers. This also includes liasing with Marketing, Customer Support, IT, Recruiting, and Material Development. The Director is the primary point of contact for new and ongoing teacher training, external teacher support, and elevates pertinent issues to the appropriate people within LearnShip.

Our ideal candidate is:
-A native English speaker
-Fluent in German and perhaps other European Languages
-Profound experience teaching English, especially in a business setting
-Experience training and managing teachers
-Previous business experience outside of teaching
-Experience in project management.
-Exudes professionalism and competence
-High-level of comfort with technology, including advanced technological skills
-A forward-thinking individual vis a vis technology and its revolutionary role in teaching and management
-Energetic, highly-motivated and flexible
-Friendly, outgoing personality

Responsibilities:
-Overseeeing/Managing LearnShip’s teacher team
-Demonstrating products to decision-makers in companies’ HR departments
-Being on call to assist teachers with technology, logistical, and material related problems
-Driving long-term goals and being a spokesperson for the teaching team and the challenges it faces
-Creating and fine-tuning LearnShip’s infrastructure to spearhead course-quality control, teacher evaluation, and teacher training, and creating processes and structure for monitoring and reporting.
-Working time will be divided between: 30% Teaching
70% Teacher Training, Teacher Support, infrastructure development
