Urgent requests for English teachers for a primary school in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
Hilltops Academy is a flourishing, privately owned primary school in Addis Ababa. We are looking for a committed individual who is interested in joining our tight knit staff to teach all aspects of English to our students. We require the candidate to be a native English speaker.
Our school has been in operation for almost three years, and already there are roughly 450 students spread across three campuses (KG and Primary). The candidate for this position should be willing to work in two campuses, although most of the work will be in the Primary compound, where the Grades range from 1-7.
At Hilltops Academy we pride ourselves on hiring the best possible staff for the benefit of our students. We do not believe that qualifications on their own are always enough, and therefore we like to employ people who we believe will contribute in as well as outside the classroom. To this end we do not insist on any formal teaching qualifications from our candidates, although naturally certificates such as TEFL will be advantageous. A minimum of on year teaching experience in any environment is essential. Ultimately we are looking for vibrant, outgoing members of staff who can bring their own style and methods of teaching to our school. We will offer a monthly salary of 7,000 birr (roughly $600) after tax. This might not seem like a huge amount in Western currency, but it is more than enough to live a very comfortable lifestyle in Addis. Additionally the school will offer free housing in a pleasant apartment block near to the school, including all bills. Upon completion of the contract we will fully refund the flight cost of your return journey in and out of Ethiopia.
