SEEKING A POSITION WITH ONE OF THE FOLLOWING: UNIVERSITY, COLLEGE, PUBLIC SCHOOL, COMPANY, OR INSTITUTE.

Availability: After August 21st (when my present contract concludes). My holidays (freeing me of all teaching responsibilities) start at the beginning of August.

I wish to teach adults. However I would consider upper level Middle School students as well.

The school must supply an apartment (that has internet access) close to the school. Split shifts are okay.

Experience:

College Professor,
(Daegu Health College, San-7, Taejeon-Dong, Buk-Gu, Daegu 702-722, The Republic of Korea. August 16, 2002 - Present. Position Title: Guest Professor. This is a 3-year Junior College. Departments: Nursing, Clinical Pathology, Occupational/Physical Therapy, Dental Technology/Hygiene, IT, Social Welfare, Food Technology, etc.
Here I teach a College credit course called Practical English. This involves instruction in vocabulary, dialogue, grammar/syntax, reading, listening, cross-cultural studies, etiquette, free-talking, and conversation.
I prepare, assign, and grade mid-term exams, essays, and final exams.
During each semester I instruct and counsel approximately 300 - 400 college students.
I also teach Adult Beginner and Intermediate conversation classes for the Department of Continuing Education. Sometimes I use a book for these classes but usually I prepare my own lessons.
As well I help other Professors with English related issues and provide aid with the College’s English Club in English discussion and cultural encounter groups.
Presently Professor Kim Kyung-Yong and I are composing a new English textbook for our College students.

ESL Instructor,
(Kids Club Funlanguages, Busan, Ha-dan Dong, Sa-ha Gu), 30 December 2001 - 15 August 2001.
I offered instruction in conversation, grammar, public speaking, essay/journal writing, and some instruction in cross-cultural interpretation. I instructed students from ages 6 - 17 as well as instructing the school’s Korean teachers.

Published a number stories and travel articles in small journals and independent presses. To supplement my income I did some occasional ESL tutoring (Intermediate-Advanced) and Investment Counselling for select clients. The Counselling involved the positioning and diversification of clients' equity portfolios. The latter position depended upon superior communication skills and a professional, amicable manner. My ESL clients were Foreign University students seeking to improve their oral and written skills, as well as their ability to present and defend seminars and theses before academic committees.

Instructed students/professionals in casual and business English. Level of instruction: beginner - advanced. Supplementary tuition offered in the presentation of seminars, reports, and essays for academic and business environments. Prepared students for University examinations. Aided several individuals and groups in developing business plans/proposals for a variety of enterprises/investors. And taught ESL at Prague Economic University.

On My Teaching Style and Goals:
I am able to teach using either a textbook or can develop my own curriculum and lessons. My specializations are General Conversation, Business English (with an emphasis on investment English), General Medical English, Academic English, and Cross-Cultural Studies (including Social, Political, Economic, Religious, Scientific, Philosophic, and the many Subcultures of Western Civilization). I have many conversation lessons I can bring to an interview as samples.

Accomplishments:
I have completed a novel, which I am sending to publishers now, and am working on a second.
