Two job openings in coastal cities
Job #1
Starting date: Mid November
Location: Tae-an (west coast)
Housing: Single
Vacation: 10 days plus all Korean national holidays
Salary: 2.0 million won
Overtime: 18,000 won per hour
Hours: 120 hours per month/ Monday to Friday
Medical insurance: 50 % paid by school
Airfare: return
Severance pay: one month’s salary

Note: This school is looking to hire a teacher from North America, Australia or the U.K. (male or female)

Job # 2 (No university degree required! Please see note at end of job description)
Starting date: Mid November
Location: Iksan (close to Chonju)
Housing: single
Vacation: 10 days plus all Korean national holidays
Salary: 2.0 million
Overtime: 18,000 won per hour
Hours: 110 hours per month
Medical insurance: 50% paid by school
Airfare: return
Severance pay: one month’s salary

Note: This job does not offer an E2 visa but rather an H1 visa which is the new Korean working holiday visa. The future teacher will be given a “route” of sorts and will work in students’ homes, not in a classroom setting but rather like home schooling. A transportation allowance will be paid in the case the teacher needs to travel by taxi between classes. Also, the school is looking to hire a female teacher only from either Australia or New Zealand since these nationalities receive a one year H1 visa as compared to 6 months for Canadians and 3 months for Americans. Canadian or American teachers would have to fly to Japan (at their own expense) to extend their visas.
One of the bonuses of working under an H1 visa is that you do not require a university degree to qualify (which is the case with the E2 visa). One stipulation of the H1 visa though is that only applicants 30 years old or younger qualify.

If you are interested in either of these positions, please send me a copy of your resume and a recent photo.

Sincerely,
Kevin Cyr
