BACKGROUND
The CEC Network is hiring 30 teachers to participate in the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education’s “English Only Zone” Project. Teachers will be posted at elementary and Junior High Schools throughout Seoul and teach ESL within the public school system. The “English Only Zone” project began in March, 2004 and is now in its first full year. The contract term is one year.

START DATE
February 21st and February 28th 2005

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Undergraduate Degree (preferably in English)
• TESL Certificate

JOB DETAILS
37.5 hours / week (5 days/week – 10:00 am – 5:30 pm – Monday - Friday)
20 hours in-class with remaining time on:
• lesson preparation and record keeping
• preparation of student progress reports and evaluation
• correcting and grading student work
• attendance at staff meetings
• participation in teacher training workshops
• teaching material preparation and maintenance
• A maximum of 15 students per class.
• The academic year starts in March and finishes in February

COMPENSATION
• 1.9 – 2.2 million SKW per month, based on qualification and/or experience (approx. 27,000 – 31,000 CAD/year)
• Single, private, furnished accommodation is provided.
• Employees will be entitled to 10 days paid vacation, as well as all public holidays.
• Round trip airfare will be included.
• 1 month salary paid as a bonus upon successful completion of the contract.
