Hello there!

I'm a Canadian who is looking for a replacement for the school I work for. I know when I was looking for jobs a year ago there was never enough information to satisfy me without having to email the contact, so please feel free to email me with any and all of your questions. I am not a recruiter and I will not be obtaining any sort of reward or fee by doing this. I just thought a foreigner in Korea talking to someone who wishes to work in Korea made more sense.

Here are some of the basics:

Desired Date of Arrival: The week of June 5, 2005.

Location: Iksan South Korea (2.5 hours south of Seoul, 1 hour east of the Yellow Sea coast).

Pay: 1.9 million won/month.
Bonus: One month additional pay upon completion of contract.
Overtime: 25 000won (approximately $30CAD or $25USD)/hour.

Airfare: prepaid one way. Return paid upon completion of contract.

Housing: Spatious furnished one bedroom apartment with private roof and balcony. All kitchen appliances, washing machine, AC, TV, and cable internet wiring. All utilities paid by you but rent is covered in the contract. The apartment is less than 5 minutes walking distance from the school.

Hours: Maximum of 6 working hours and 1 (flexible) preparation hour/day Monday-Friday. No mornings, weekends, or split-shifts. Currently I am working from 3pm-10pm which is typical for private institutions.

Age of children taught: elementary and middle school children (age: 9-14).

Something else to be mentioned is that the foreigner community in Iksan is great. We do a lot of things together as a group including all kinds of recreational sports and weekend outings.
