From teaching in the dazzling lights of Korea's thumping metropolis's, to cosy cities nestled in the mountains, to laid-back beach side towns, we have locations to suit every need. Elementary, middle and high school positions are all available now! Places tend to fill up fast for these positions so it's best to apply early!

About the Public School Program (EPIK)
EPIK or English Program in Korea is a government organization that was established in 1995. It's aim is to improve the English speaking skills of students and teachers in Korea and promote cultural exchange and strong global ties between Korea and the wider world.

Why work at public schools?
- Public schools offer a very stable working environment
- Public schools offer more holidays than private schools (18 days as opposed to 10)
- Public schools offer shorter working hours (22 per week as opposed to 30)
- Every class has an assistant to help you
- Full orientation is given making it easy for you to settle into your new life

++Briefs++
- Start date: mid-February (full orientation to be followed by placement at assigned school)
- Working days: Monday - Friday
- Working hours: 8.30AM - 4.30PM
- Total hours: 22 classes per week (so 3 or 4 classes per day)
- Student level: Elementary, Middle or High School

++Salary & Benefits++
- KRW1.9 - 2.7 Million monthly (depending on experience)
- KRW1,300,000 Entrance Allowance to cover flight cost into Korea
- KRW1,300,000 Exit Allowance upon completion of contract
- Rural Allowance + Provincial allowance (depending on location)
- KRW300,000 Settlement Allowance (one time payment)
- Free fully furnished housing or, where housing is not available, a rent subsidy of KRW400,000
- 3 Weeks PAID vacation (8 day summer recess, 10 day winter recess) + approximately 12 national holidays
- 22 hours of class teaching required per week
- Overtime pay or KRW20,000 per hour per supplementary class
- Severance pay equivalent to one month's salary
- Tax exemption for 2 years apart from Canadians due to lack of ROK Treaty
- Compulsory medical insurance - 50% of premiums paid by employer
- National Pension scheme - 50% of contributions paid by employer
- Full 8 day orientation in a Korean resort area
- One year contracts
- All national holidays

What would be my responsibilities?
- Teach English
- Student evaluation
- Prep class
- Develop curriculum and teaching materials
- Conduct English conversational classes for teachers and students
- Assist with activities related to English language education

As a teacher you will have full classroom responsibilities including creating lesson plans, student assessment, and curriculum development.
