Korean Military Intelligence School Seeks Two Teachers
Korean Military Intelligence School Seeks 2 Teachers

The Intelligence School’s Military English Course is a six-month program designed to help Korean company and field grade officers (lieutenants, captains, majors, and colonels) function with their western counterparts during joint operations. Our curriculum is professionally designed, supported by audio and visual media, and used by the U.S. military for teaching foreign officers. The students are rigorously screened prior to their selection to the course, and their attendance here constitutes a full-time job. Each teacher is responsible for the education of just one group of 12-15 students during the six-month period. Because the students are of such a high caliber, only professional, committed candidates who are willing to support the existing team and curriculum will be considered.

Requirements:
a. Must be born in an English-speaking country and possess the appropriate passport.
b. Professional dress, appearance, and demeanor are absolutely required, as you will be dealing with military officers. Extreme flexibility and a positive attitude are also necessities in a military environment.
c. Adult-teaching experience is required, as is a bachelor’s degree. Both will be verified by the school prior to your interview.
d. Strong preference will be shown for candidates with military experience, experience in Korea, and a TESOL (or the equivalent) certification.

Remuneration:
a. 25,000 won per hour for approximately 15-20 hours per week.
b. Four weeks of unpaid vacation (three in the summer, one in the winter).
c.Accommodation provided.
d.Your own class of 12-15 highly motivated students (ranging in age from 27 to 40).
e.Your own classroom with TV, VCR, Internet computer, and PowerPoint projector.
f.Barbershop, PX, and a small clinic with an English-speaking doctor.
g.Close proximity to Seoul (15 minutes by bus to Jamsil).

The following documents should be submitted by e-mail:
a.Resume and cover letter including three personal references (non-family members required). Your references WILL be checked.
b.Professional photograph.
c.Deadline for email submissions is 15 November 2005.
d.Interviews will be conducted beginning at 9am on 25 November 2005. Directions to the school will be e-mailed to you once we have received your application.

After you are hired, you will need to provide sealed copies of your transcripts to the school. Costs incurred during the visa acquisition process will be borne by the applicant.
