Seeking Children’s Textbook Writer and Senior Teacher
Established since 1961, currently with more than 5000 full time employees and more than 3000 teachers YBM Sisa generated more than 350 million dollars ($US) in sales last year combining our Publishing division: Newsweek Magazine, National Geographic, Readers Digest, etc, Education division: YBM ECC is part of this division and our Testing Division: TOEIC Exam, Microsoft Office User Exam, SEPT, JPT, etc). With company owned locations throughout Korea, China, Canada and even the Philippines, YBM is one of the world’s largest providers of private education.

YBM’s curriculum development division is seeking a children’s textbook writer working under the curriculum manager as part of the curriculum development team. The textbook will be aimed at 4th, 5th, and 6th graders. Assist in the development of YBM Education’s ECC curriculum such as textbooks for children and other teaching related materials used at more than 100 YBM ECC schools. No teaching will be required for this position. The ideal candidate must be someone with good writing skills & grammar, and with some teaching experience at a children’s academy in Korea.

YBM is also seeking to hire a senior teacher for our upcoming Seoul English Village to work at the Head office for 6 weeks and then work as a senior teacher at our English Village located in Suyu Dong (Northern Seoul). The Seoul English village will be operated on 2000 pyeong land provided by the city government of Seoul. The Seoul English village will be jointly operated by Seoul city and YBM Education in Suyo Dong.
For 6 to 10 weeks help coordinate the opening of our English Village in March 2006 by working at the YBM Head Office. Then work as the foreign Senior Teacher at the Suyu-dong English Village in Seoul. Teach up to 3 classes with substitute hours. Assist in the training of new teachers and help supervise the foreign teaching staff.


Who may apply:

· Native English speakers from North America, UK, New Zealand and Australia
· Minimum BA degree in any major
· Must have previous teaching experience at a children’s academy in Korea such as YBM ECC, SLP, Wonderland, Kid’s College, etc.


Work Location: Textbook Writer: Seoul, Chongno 3-ga YBM Head Office
Senior Teacher: YBM Head office in Chongno then Suyu-dong English Village in Seoul.
Work Hours: Textbook Writer: 9:00 am to 6:30 pm Monday to Friday
Senior Teacher: 9:00 am to 6:00 pm Monday to Friday (both Village and office hours) Required to teach 3 forty-five minute classes per day with substitute hours as a standby teacher

Start Date: Textbook Writer: February 1st to March 1st
Senior Teacher: Early January to Feb 1, 2006 depending on completion of E2 visa
Contract Length: One year with extension possibility

Salary:
Textbook Writer: 2.2 million won to 2.5 million won plus rent-free single studio or an additional 350,000 won with the No- Housing contract.
Senior Teacher: 2.0 million won to 2.2 million won plus rent-free single studio (No- Housing Contract will be consider with rent subsidy)
Benefits: One Month’s severance pay, pension tax refund, all national holidays off plus 10 vacation days (7 for senior teacher), airfare provided or reimbursed, Korean National Health Insurance coverage.
