Apply Now For End of Feb Start-Seoul, Busan, Daejeon
Apply With Only the Best: YBM-Sisa is Korea’s Oldest Language Institute and Largest Employer of ESL Teachers

Don’t be deceived by recruitment agencies in Korea. Many recruiters will tell a prospective teacher anything to get them to sign a contract so they can collect their commission from the school (recruiters make up to 1 million won or more if they secure a teacher for a school). You may have heard the horror stories. A teacher comes to Korea, excited to embark upon a great new experience only to find out that much of, if not everything, their recruiter said were based on empty promises:

-Not given or reimbursed for airfare;
-Substandard housing;
-Illegal deductions from pay
-Not paying into the mandatory Pension Tax scheme
-Not getting paid on time;
-Not getting paid at all;
-Getting fired on the 11th month so the school can avoid paying the severance bonus;
-Schools going out of business at any moment;
-Etc.

Bypass the recruiter and apply directly to YBM ECC (English Center for Children). YBM-Sisa, our parent company, is Korea’s oldest and largest employer of ESL teachers. Everyone at our company-owned schools is an employee of YBM, even the manager. Since our all 30 of our ECC schools are owned and managed by our company, you will be paid on time and in full for the duration of your contract directly by our head office in Seoul, even if your school is unprofitable and regardless if you are under your scheduled hours.

Even during the Asian financial crisis during the late ‘90’s, we always paid our employees while many schools went out of business.

Remember that you will not be working for a small ‘mom and pop’ school that can go out of business at any time. You will be working at a school owned and managed by our company that had over (US) $350 million in sales last year through all of its subsidiaries which include education, publishing, and testing.

Mention YBM to any Korean and they will affirm our reputation as one of the most heralded language institutes in Korea.

Our positions are available for those with a minimum of a B.A./B.S. from an accredited university and passports from the following countries: Canada, U.S.A., Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, South Africa, and the U.K.

We have various positions for end of February arrival at our company-owned ECC schools in Seoul:

Jungye ECC – located in northern Seoul in Nowon-gu
Sungbuk ECC – near Sungshin Women’s University
Yeongdeungpo ECC – located in western Seoul, close to the popular Hongdae/Sinchon nightlife districts
Songpa ECC – located in the affluent southeastern part of Seoul, close to Lotte World
Seokchon ECC – also located in southeastern Seoul, next to beautiful Seokchon Lake
Jookjeon ECC – located just south of Seoul in Bundang a suburb-like city. This position is ideal for a couple

We also have positions for end of February arrival at our company-owned ECC schools in Daejeon and Busan:

Daejeon ECC – located in Mannyeong-dong close to the famous Yusong hot springs. Daejeon is a mid-sized city (about 1.4 million people) that is less congested and polluted than Seoul but just as vibrant.

Haeundae ECC – close to the famous Haeundae Beach in Busan. Busan is Korea’s second largest city with about 4 million residents. It tends to have a more pleasant climate than other parts of Korea.

You can get more information about these schools and take a look at our sample contract and policies on our website www.ybmecc.co.kr.

Benefits
-A competitive salary of 1.8-2.0 million won (depending on education and experience)
-Guaranteed contracts; you will always be paid on time and in full by our head office in Seoul, regardless if you are under hours or if your school is unprofitable
-Only 95 teaching hours a month (far less than our competitors who usually require 100-120 teaching hours or more a month)
-Overtime is 16,000 won per 40-minute class
-Return airfare from nearest major city of prospective teachers
-Rent-free housing located near the school
-Korean medical coverage
-Pension tax refund for Canadian and American teachers (you get 9% of your income back when you go back to your country)
-Year-end completion bonus (extra month salary)

If you are interested in becoming a teacher for our company, list your order of preference of locations and email your cover letter, resume and a recent picture to:
