Time ABC specializes in providing oral English training to Chinese students. Typically, the students are keen, dedicated and possess an intermediate level of spoken English.

We are currently seeking to place native English speakers at a brand new school in Chengde, northeast China. This school teaches senior high school students between the ages of 17 – 20. Each school year contains 1800 students. Typical class size is 45. The school has excellent facilities, including newly built computer & music rooms, science laboratories and library. Chengde is 3 hours from Beijing, but itself has some famous attractions and enjoys an excellent climate.

Employment Details:
⊙ Teachers will have 20_25 classes per week. Classes are 45 minutes and should provide intermediate spoken English tuition.
⊙ A minimum commitment of 6 months is required.
⊙ Candidates must be native English speakers with a 3rd level qualification. Previous teaching experience is preferred but not mandatory.

Orientation:
Teachers will be provided with an orientation guide to include such information as
sample Chinese menus, local travel bus / train information, location of supermarkets /
department stores.

Health & Safety:
China is a very safe country. Theft is the only likely danger with little violent crime
Occurring. Clearly, however normal precautions should be taken. Chengde city has 2
large hospitals. Teachers are responsible for their own health insurance.

Vaccinations:
Please consult your local doctor for general advice on which travel vaccinations may
be recommended for travel to China.

Cell Phones:
Sim cards for cell phones can be purchased cheaply locally and will work for incoming and outgoing voice calls and text messaging. Free internet access will be available in the school.

Visas:
Help and guidance with visa issues will be provided when teacher placement is at an advanced stage.

Living Conditions:
Free, newly built, clean room will be provided to all teachers. Room will have toilet with hot shower, large bedroom and living area. Full kitchen facilities will not be provided but the school has a large cafeteria and over 20 restaurants within 10 minutes walking distance.

Joint Applications:
Married and co-habiting couples are welcome to apply. Similarly, applications from friends can be submitted.
