REQUIREMENTS
TEACHERS
Candidates must have recognized teaching English as a foreign language certification, like the EF Certificate in TEFL, which contains a minimum of 6 hours observed teaching practice (equivalent qualifications like Trinity Cert. TESOL or CELTA are also acceptable).

EFL classroom experience is also desirable, but not essential. In some cases, extensive relevant TEFL experience can be considered in lieu of formal TEFL qualifications. Candidates should be motivated, enthusiastic and open to new experiences.

Candidates not meeting the above requirements can take the EF Certificate in TEFL, a four-week intensive course, which is available monthly in Johannesburg (South Africa), Sydney (Australia) and in Manchester and Brighton in the UK.

DIRECTORS OF STUDIES
EF/Trinity/Cambridge Diploma preferred, but we also welcome applications from candidates holding quality certificates (i.e. similar to EF Certificate in TEFL or other reputable certificates like the Trinity Cert. TESOL or CELTA) and have an additional 2 years' EFL teaching experience.

All Directors of Studies are eligible to join our subsidised, distance EF Diploma in TEFL offering the ideal opportunity for you to combine work, study and career development with EF English First. The EF Diploma in TEFL is designed with a DOS’s needs in mind, covering all the usual aspects of an advanced ELT qualification with additional modules on Academic Management and Teacher Training. The EF Diploma in TEFL is in a convenient distance format with a 25-week online phase and a two-week intensive block in EF training centres worldwide.
