Liaoning College of Foreign Trade & Economic Relations is a tertiary vocational college under the leadership of Ministry of Education and Ministry of Foreign Trade & Economic Relations. The college is located in Dalian, China. Dalian is one of the top ten most beautiful cities in China, which is coastal city and located in Northeast of China. Dalian is a fashion city with beautiful scenery, clean seaside, green mountains, amiable weather and some historical sites attracting more and more foreign guests from all over the world. And annually fashion festival is becoming more and more popular and an important event among all the local Chinese and foreign residents. Dalian is also ranked No. 2 as the most dynamic city in China.

Our college has campuses both in Dalian and Lushun (Port Arthur). Lushun campus is 50-minutes school bus ride away from the Dalian campus, where most of the teachers live. The college has 6 school commuting buses to take all the teachers to Lushun campaus.
The apartment we offer to foreign teachers are on Dalian campus. The Dailan campus is very close to the largest and most well-known part in Dalian, Xinghai Park, which is a seaside park with lots of entertainments inside. The foreigners’ living place is very much convenient to get to anyplace in Dalian because there are 8 different roads of buses leading to everywhere in the city around the foreign teachers’ apartment block. The nearest Taiwan-based supermarket and grocery store is only five minutes walk from foreign teachers’ apartment. The popular supermarkets in Dalian are Carrefour, Mycal, which is a Japanese one, Walmart and New-Mart, which is a local one. And it takes only half an hour to the downtown of Dalian city; 20 minutes bus ride to stadium, which is the home stadium of top one football team in China; and 15 minutes to Xinghai Square, which is the largest theme square in Asian. In a word, living here is quite convenient.

The Dalian campus is located in academy District in Dalian, where there are DUT (known as Chinese MIT), Dongbei Financial University (which is one of the best financial universities in China) and DMU (maritime university), which is the oldest and largest maritime university in China. To be frank our college is really not that reputable but we do have lots of exchanges and connections with the above universities.

At the moment there are 9 thousand boarding students specialized in 25 majors in 10 departments in our college. They are from 14 provinces in China. The students are at the age range from 15 to 21. They all speak English as they have been learning English for more than 6 years. Some even learned English for 8 years, among which 2 years are intensive program. So most of the students write well, know good English but they need to be encouraged to speak in public and exposed to better and more English input. But there are some students they are not willing to speak, to learn even but they won’t corrupt other students as in Asian we have very strict management over students.

At the moment, there are 8 foreign experts working in the college, 3 Japanese teachers and 6 English teachers from US, Australian, New Zealand and Singapore. We would like the foreign teachers to create and offer students a multicultural environment.

We demand all the foreign experts to fulfill the following requirements:

·16 teaching hours (45 minutes an teaching hour) within 4 days a week
·24 teaching hours (45 minutes an teaching hour ) within 5 days a week
·two more hours for attending students activities (English Corner) or offering teachers’
training to Chinese English teachers every week
·teach students speaking, reading, writing or some other courses in English.
·the target students are of 16 to 20 years of age with 4 to 6 years of English learning
·write teaching plans every week.
·help our college evaluate Chinese English teachers if needed
·write test papers for the courses you teach
·assess students by the end of every semester

- 1 bedroom apartment with one sitting room, one kitchen, one bathroom and one dining room
- necessary electrical appliance ( fridge, washing machine, radiator, cooking utensils, vacuum cleaner, TV, water kettle, microwave, bath heater etc. )
- free use of water, power, gas, local phone calls (long distance calls and international calls are paid by users) and internet. To make long distance call, discounted IP card or some other telephone cards will be much cheaper, which are available just around your living place.
Salary
- 5000RMB every month for 24 hours or
- 3500RMB every month for 16 hours
- get paid for holidays without any teaching at all
- still get paid in summer and winter holidays (more than 70 days)
without any teaching
- one-way air ticket for half year contract
- two-way air ticket for one year contract
- 2200RMB holiday allowance for 12 months contract
- 1100RMB holiday allowance for 6 months contract
- 2 weeks off in Gold Weeks for traveling----May Day (the first week of
May) and National day ( first week of October )
