Im Joy from ZhangJiaKou Foreign Language School. And my school is looking to hire 2 or more full-time teachers immediately.
My school is a public, government-funded secondary school/high school. That means you will never wonder if and when youll get your paycheck! Standard class sizes are, as in all Chinese public schools, large (50+ students); however, students are conscientious, hard working, and extremely respectful discipline problems are rare. If you have experience teaching smaller, focus classes, the school will be more than willing to work with you in organizing more typically TEFL-style classes. With a friendly and supportive working environment, we offer our foreign teachers maximum flexibility and opportunity. You can set your own schedule and are not required to stay at the school when not teaching. Teaching materials are supplied, but teachers with TEFL/TESOL experience are welcome to supplement with their own materials.
Our school is located three hours north of Beijing. Because ZhangJiaKou is a relatively small city in the north of China, it offers a great atmosphere for individuals interested in a true immersion experience. You will enjoy many opportunities to learn about local customs and culture and study standard, Mandarin Chinese a unique experience that is often not available in bigger, southern cities. With Beijing a short train/ bus ride away, ZhangJiaKou has a unique mix of traditional Chinese culture and modern convenience. CONTRACT DETAILS:
-Standard Working Week: 16-20, 45 minute class periods per week
-Salary: 5000RMB per month (*see below)
- Travel and Medical stipends: 2200 RMB travel stipend/year; 1000 RMB medical stipend/ year
- Z Visa arranged by school
- 1 international, roundtrip air ticket per year paid by the school
- Vacation: 14 days paid Sick Leave; 4 days paid Business Leave; Long Winter and Summer holidays (up to 2 months for each)
- Very large, furnished apartment provided free of charge (2bedrooms, 1 bathrooms, kitchen, dining room, office, living room and storage room) includes TV, DVD, computer/internet, microwave, fridge, cooker, washing machine, shower/bathtub etc.
- All utilities costs paid by school (electricity, water, heating, gas, drinking water)
*During Summer and Winter holidays, salary is reduced to 1500RMB/month, however this is not a problem as the cost of living in our city is so low that one can easily live on less than 1000RMB/month. Negotiable (additional holiday job opportunities are too numerous to count!)
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
-Native English speaker (from U.S., U.K., Australia, New Zealand, Ireland)
-4-year University Degree WITH one or both of the following:
TESOL/TEFL certificate
One year or more EFL/ESL teaching experience
