ESL Vacancies in Sidoarjo-East Java, Indonesia
EF English First Sidoarjo, East Java, Indonesia is seeking qualified teachers for General English and Young Learners.

Indonesia is one of the most beautiful and fascinating nations in the world. Sidoarjo is situated on the north-east tip of the island of Java in Indonesia. It is a business-oriented, industrial town neighbouring Surabaya, the second-largest city in Indonesia. Sidoarjo has a definite small-town feel to it, with a fairly tight-knit community.

Sidoarjo is also ideally located for those who really want to get out and explore East Java, with its volcanoes, and traditional towns. Sidoarjo’s proximity to the airport in Surabaya also means that trips to Bali and travel to the rest of Asia are also possible.

About EF English First
English First is a large and well-established organization, and is this year celebrating its 40th year involved in education around the world. In Indonesia alone there are currently over 50 English First schools in operation.

The Sidoarjo franchisee runs seven very popular schools throughout East Java and one in Bali. We employ between 40 and 50 native speakers throughout the group, and so we have regular positions available for EFL teachers. The next positions will start in March 2005.

Our Academic Programs
· Class size is limited to 14, but averages about 10. The majority of our students are high school and university-aged, but we also have growing numbers of young learners and business English groups. English levels range from beginners to post-advanced.
· We have a computer lab with up-to-date software and a very extensive language resource library.
· Instructors are provided with comprehensive syllabuses for every course they are asked to teach but are encouraged to adapt them for their students’ needs and individual teaching style.

What you offer
· An accredited TEFL certificate from 4 or 5-week intensive course that included extensive teaching practice (or higher level certificate or degree program). Previous teaching experience is preferred, but not essential. You should have an enthusiasm for teaching people of all ages.
· You should also be a team player and have a positive outlook. You will need to be flexible enough to adapt to living in a developing country.

What we offer
· A rupiah based salary equivalent to that of a middle manager. This allows for a comfortable lifestyle and travel within Indonesia.
· One way airfare from city of hire and airfare to city of origin upon completion of the one-year contract
· Full working visa
· A bonus of one month’s salary upon completion of the one-year contract.
· 15 vacation days in addition to two weeks off when the school is closed and approximately 10 days a year of government public holidays.
· Health insurance
· A fully furnished house within easy walking distance of the school, shared with one or two other EF teachers, or a housing allowance that can go towards the cost of renting and furnishing a house on your own.
· A dynamic and supportive working environment offering many opportunities for career development.
