A Brief Introduction of DaYu College

DaYu College was established in 1993. It is a full-time, comprehensive private institution of higher learning which is approved by the government of JiangXi and is included in the National Unified enrolling plan by the National Ministry of Education. Mrs. Chen XiangMei, a well-known Chinese-American and the chairperson of an American International Cooperation committee, entitled the college DaYu and remains a counselor of the college.

Over the past ten years, DaYu has achieved many honourable titles, such as National Advanced Private College, Excellent College of JiangXi Province, and the Advanced Private Unit of Education. In 2002 DaYu chosen as one of "the famous private colleges in China with over 0.1million students". In recent
years many media such as XinHua Express, RenMin Daily Newspaper Express, CCTV, China Central People's Broadcasting Station, Chinese Education News Express, China Youth Newspaper Express, etc, have reported and confirmed the achievements of DaYu.

DaYu College, with modern groups of buildings, covers many hundreds of hectares and is located in the famous historical and cultural city of NanChang. Its WanLi campus is adjacent to MeiLing - a National Forest Garden, and its DaiShan campus is beside the famous scenic spot - BaDaShanRen. Here the environment is pleasant and the air is clean. You not only can breathe fresh air and experience the peaceful environment but you can also have a comfortable life and convenient transportation. Now the school consists of 8 departments and 58 majors including undergraduate and associated programmes and vocational preparation for college. The eight departments are Computers, Foreign languages, Engineering, Economic Managment, Chinese, Law, Art & Music and Medicine. At present there are more than 10 thousand students from all over China studying at DaYu College. The President of DaYu College, Zhang YueJin, was born in an educational family and is now a member of the China's Central Special Committee on Science,Education, Culture and Health (民革中央科教文专门委员会 ) as well as the 9th Political Consultation Committee. President Zhang has said, "For the prosperity and strength of China, our Education cannot stop with only the passing on and inheriting of knowledge and technical ability we should conscientiously improve and strengthen the quality of Education itself". Social and Cultural education, and creativity and innovation. During these 10 years DaYu has explored and undertaken a series of practices to form its current and distinctive way of running the college.

DaYu College also pays close attention to international communication and cooperation. Now the college defined cooperation and communication plans with over 10 universities and colleges from Korea, Japan, Australia, England and the USA and has formed a working partnership with Prince College of Malaysia.
In 2003, DaYu was issued a certificate of approval to employ foreign teachers and experts by the National Foreign Expert Bureau and currently employ 4 foreign teachers.
