The St. Louis Language Institute is located in FengYuan city (just outside of Taichung). We are currently looking for a teacher to start in mid May. (ideally from May to next June).

* Teachers MUST HAVE AT LEAST A BACHELORS
DEGREE, in any field.
* Teachers MUST BE NATIVE ENGLISH SPEAKERS.
* Teachers MUST BE CANADIAN OR AMERICAN citizens.
* teaching experience is not required
* experience working with children is not
required, but would be nice.

* We offer 55,000NT (about US$1800) dollars a
month.
* We offer return airfare paid at the end of the
contract.
* We offer a 1000 dollar US completion bonus.
* We offer free accomodation (furnished).
* We provide an ARC (legal work permit).
* We help with taxes.
* We pay half National Health care (very good)
(western medicine).
* We offer free internet access in the school.
* We offer a friendly and helpful working
environment (English speaking staff).
2 or 3 other Canadian or American teachers.
* We provide bycicles for getting around the
city, although most teachers buy a scooter and
then sell it before they leave.
* FengYuan has a large/friendly foreigner
community.

About us
Our school has been in business for over 6 years now and we currently have over 400 students, aged 4-12.

Our classes
We have a maximum of 20 students per class, although usually there are only about 10 students in a class (sometimes less). Students range from 0 beginners to advanced students who have been speaking for years.

As a teacher you would be asked to work 6 months of morning and afternoon classes and then 6 months of afternoon evening classes. During one of those 6 month periods you may be asked to work Saturdays. (maximum of 30 hours of work a week).

Our methods
We use a variety of preselected books to teach the students reading and phonics skills. As a teacher you can use games and songs with these materials to teach the curriculum.
