A brief Introduction
Inner Mongolia University of Science and Technology is located in the city of Baotou, a beautiful city in the midst of the inner Mongolian grasslands, known as the city of rare earth. It is a comprehensive university approved by the National Ministry of Education, with postgraduate education, undergraduate education, professional and higher professional training, and continuing adult education. The university serves 24944 full time undergraduate and diploma students, 252 postgraduate students and 11,348 adult students. It has a staff of 2700. There are 1352 teachers with senior professional titles including 294 professors and associate professors.

Inner Mongolia University of Science and Technology has eight branches of learning that cover the liberal arts, science, engineering, medical science, business administration and education. The university is authorized to grant Bachelor’s degrees and diplomas in 106 programs, and Master’s degrees in 17. The University’s academic capability is recognized as the best in eight of these programs in Inner Mongolia.

Inner Mongolia University of Science and Technology has campuses that cover a total area of 1,149,539 square meters with a building area of 559,009 square meters. its library has a collection of 1,263,800 books. It has four attached hospitals, four attached middle schools and three attached primary schools.

Inner Mongolia University of Science and Technology tries its effort to be a leading institution in teaching and research of science and technology, pursuing knowledge in both fundamental and applied areas, and collaborating closely with business and industry in promoting technological innovation and economic development. In recent years, the university has undertaken 637 scientific research projects for the city of Baotou. Among these 71 have been awarded prizes by municipal, provincial and national government. Thirty three of these projects have won national patents. In addition, 5,217 theses and 330 academic monographs have been published.

Inner Mongolia University of Science and Technology has tried to enhance international academic exchanges. Teachers from Canada, USA, UK, Newzealand，Australia and Japan have been invited to work here. The university also enrolls international students. The university also runs joint programs and maintains cooperative relationships with universities and research institute in USA, Korea, Britain, Australia，New Zealand and Germany.
