The Tsinghua Experimental School in Shenzhen (TESS), affiliated with Tsinghua University in Beijing, is seeking full-time teachers of English for our language center on campus.

TESS, a prestigious state-owned school offering elementary and secondary education, first opened its doors to students in September 2002. Now in its 4th academic year, we've established an optional language center on campus where students can attend their English lessons with a native English speaker. Due to the success of this program, we are expanding our services to include more students for the second term.

Position Details

We currently have three types of English teaching positions:

Lessons are Monday through Friday, mornings and afternoons.
Currently enrolled students are from7 to 17years old.

1. Most teachers work in our Language Center, which offers daily lessons to primary school children for an additional fee. There are 20 students per class, and the courses follow a textbook-based syllabus.

2. Some teachers work as oral English teachers in either the Primary or the Middle School Section. They meet each homeroom of 40 students once per week to practice oral skills; these teachers have complete freedom in their lesson planning, as they are not required to follow the Chinese teachers' syllabus.

3. We also have positions in our International School Section. Class sizes tend to be smaller (averaging 10-15 students), and the students come from different countries. These courses are also syllabus-based, as they meet daily.

The ideal candidate will have:

- TEFL qualifications from a reputable training program
- University degree, or relevant vocational training
- At least 9 months' teaching experience
- Native English speaker status
- Experience with children
- A desire to work with children
- Basic computer skills

We offer:

- an 11-month contract from September 05 to July 06
- 5000 RMB—7000 monthly salary
