Duration 4 weeks or 3 weeks including 1 week of recreational travel coordinated by the GEVU.

We have 200 summer teaching placements available throughout China. Positions are available for native English speaking University students and experienced English teachers.

Successful applicants will be provided with:
1) RMB3000Yuan (about£200 or $360) travel allowance to cover air fare to China
2) Free accommodation and food for the duration of the placement
3) One week free travel and one long weekend travel
4) Weekly cultural events focusing on local food
5) Free VCD for recording your life in China
6) Volunteer certificate and reference letter from Global Educational Volunteers Union

3) Deadline:
Eighty percent of candidates will be confirmed by the first deadline: 15 May2005
Twenty percent of candidates will be confirmed by the second deadline: 25 May 2005.

2. Application assessments:
Essential:
English native speakers only

Ideally:
1) University students
2) Diploma or degree holder with work experience preferred but is not essential
3) Graduates from teacher training school with work experience preferred but is not essential.

3 Details of the summer camps project
1) Time
Most our partner schools run their summer camps program from 04/July/2005 to 30/July/2005, other arrangement could be available, please contact us for more and updated details.

2) Location:
Currently, summer camps programs are available in the city of Shenzhen (Guangdong Province), Taiyuan (Shan xi Province), Jinzhong (Shan xi Province), Zhangjiakou (Hebei Province) and more cities are being confirmed, please contact us for more and updated details. 3) Age of the student group
12-17 years old

4) What will be happening?
- Materials: multimedia-assisted teaching and learning materials will be provided
- Skills required: Communication skills are essential.
- Daily schedule: including 3-hour class in the morning and 2-hour activity in the afternoon.
- Food party: Weekly cultural events will be held focusing on local food
- Long weekend travel: free travel based inside or around the city area
- One-week free travel: Travel to one of the famous attractions all over China.

5) Your benefits
- Airfare allowance: RMB 3000 Yuan (around £200 OR $360) travel allowance to cover part of the airfare to China
- Food and free accommodation: Free food and free accommodation provided by our schools for the duration of the placement
- Free VCD for recording your life and activities in the summer camps programme.
-Certificate and reference letter: Volunteer certificate and reference letter from Global Educational Volunteers Union (GEVU) will be issued to all participants

6) Training
One-day orientation program will be provided to the UK candidates by the GEVU focusing on Chinese culture and travel tips. Orientation also is available in all campsus.

4 Other issues
1) Program fees: £75 OR $140 will be charged from successful candidates to cover our administration costs and our charity educational programs in China. This is non-refundable should you withdraw from the programme.

2) Contract: An agreement will be signed between the successful candidates and GEVU.
