6 English Teachers are needed for autumn term in
Liaoning Universities of International Business and Economics.

Liaoning University of International Business and Economics is a comprehensive university under the leadership of Ministry of Education and Ministry of Foreign Trade & Economic Relations. The university was upgraded into a university from Liaoning College of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations in 2004 because of its fast and sound development. It is the only university specialized in Foreign Trade in Liaoning province.

Dalian is one of the top ten most beautiful cities in China. Being a coastal city in Northeast of China, Dalian is recognized as a fashionable and dynamic city with clean seaside, green mountains, amiable weather and some historical sites. The city is attracting more and more foreign guests from all over the world. And the annually fashion festival is becoming more and more popular and important among all the local Chinese and foreign residents.

Our university has campuses both in Dalian and Lushun. Lushun campus is 50-minutes school bus ride away from the Dalian campus, where most of the teachers live. The university has 6 school commuting buses taking all the teachers to Lushun campaus and back home after work. The buses go to Lushun from Dalian at 7:00; 9:00 in the morning and 1:30 in the afternoon, and come back to Dalian after work at 12:30; 4:00 and 5:00 in the afternoon.

The apartments we offer to foreign teachers are on Dalian campus. The campus is very close to the largest and most popular park -- Xinghai Park. It is a seaside park with lots of entertainments inside. The foreigners’ living place is very convenient to get everywhere in Dalian since around the teachers’ apartment block there are 6 different roads of buses leading to everywhere in the city. The nearest supermarket and grocery store is only 3 minutes walk from foreign teachers’ apartment. And it takes only half an hour to the downtown of Dalian city; 20 minutes bus ride to stadium, which is the home stadium of Dalian Shide Soccer Team, the top one team in China; and 15 minutes to Xinghai Square, which is the largest theme square in Asian. In a word, living on Dalian campus is convenient.

Dalian campus is located in academy district in Dalian, where there are DUT ( known as Chinese MIT), Dongbei Financial University (which is one of the best financial universities in China) and DMU (maritime university), which is the oldest and largest maritime university in China. To be frank our university is not very reputable but we do have lots of exchanges and connections with the above universities.

At the moment, there are 8 thousand boarding students specialized in more than 20 majors in 10 departments in our university. In the coming semester, the university will recruit 3500 more freshmen and then the boarding students will be over 10 thousand. They are from all over China but Liaoning students take up the higher percentage. The students are at the age range from 15 to 21. They all speak English as they have been learning English for more than 6 years. Some even learned English for 8 years, among which 2 years are intensive program. So most of the students write well, know good English but they need to be encouraged to speak in public and exposed to a better English input. But there are some students they are not willing to speak, to learn even, but they won’t corrupt other students as in Asian we have very strict management over students in classroom.

Every semester our university recruits around 10 foreign teachers. All the foreign teachers work in Foreign Affairs Office. This office believes in Multiculturalism and professionalism in teaching and management. Therefore, English speakers from USA, UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore and some European countries used to work here, and they successfully built up a multicultural English environment for our students.

Your supervising Departments will be the Department of Foreign Affairs and the Department of Foreign Language. The people in charge from the two departments will be in charge of your living and working in China. Should you experience any difficulties in the performance of your duties, you are to report them to your supervisor immediately. It is our goal that all employees work in a safe and injury free environment.

For the autumn semester we are going to recruit 6 English teachers. We demand all the foreign experts to fulfill the following requirements:

·16 teaching hours (45 minutes an teaching hour ) within 4 days a week or
·24 teaching hours (45 minutes an teaching hour ) within 5 days a week
·two more hours for attending students activities (English Corner) or offering teachers’
training to Chinese English teachers every month
·teach students speaking, reading, writing or some other courses in English according to
our university’s curriculum
·the target students are of 16 to 20 years of age with 4 to 6 years of English learning
·write the syllabus for the course you are going to teach and submit it to the Department of
Foreign Affairs for final approval
·help our college evaluate Chinese English teachers if needed
·write test papers for the courses you teach
·assess students by the end of every semester
·abide by all the working disciplines our college has
·provide good quality of teaching and accept mid-term evaluation from the Department of
Foreign Affairs and Department of Foreign Languages
·accept teaching training program from the Department of Foreign Affairs in order to improve the teaching
·participate office or university activities (weekly meeting)

Salary (tax not deducted)
- 5000RMB every month for teaching months (24 hours) or
- 3500RMB every month for teaching months (16 hours)
- still get paid 3500RMB every month in summer and winter holidays (more than 70 days)
- two-way air fair will be reimbursed at the end of the contract based on the price offer from our airline company
- 2200RMB holiday allowance for 12 months contract
- 1100RMB holiday allowance for 6 months contract
- get paid in Chinese Yuan and free exchange of currency
- 2 weeks off in Gold Weeks for traveling----May Day (the first week of May) and National day (first week of October)
- 2 days off on Christmas Day
- free Chinese lessons
