We are looking for a Primary school teacher, which is ages 7-12 yrs old. The hours about 15 hours per week, which is three 45 minute classes per day. Text books are provided for guideline use but the teaching you would be doing is all oral practice. There is multi-media in the classroom if you choose to use power-point presentations. There are also 2 new teaching buildings and the school is only about 5 years old.

The accomodation is right on campus. It is private, fully furnished accomodation including 2 bedrooms with A/C, western toilet, kitchen facilities, TV and DVD player and computor with internet access. All meals are provided in the school dining room. The school campus also has an outdoor, olympic size swimming pool and 200m track.

The contract is for one year, September 2005 - July 2006. The pay is 4500 RMB per month including payed holidays ( China's National Day-one week, Spring Festival-2-3 weeks, Labour Day-one week). Airfare is also reimbursed, 1/2 at 6 months and the remaning at the end of your contract. The school also arranges and pays for the working permit for your contract.

The village is called Ma Cun located in Guangdong province. The village is fairly small, maybe only 15 000 people in the countryside. Although, there are many surrounding villages within walking and biking distance and easily accessable to the bigger cities of Shunde and Foshan. Ma Cun is about 30km south east of Guangzhou, which is the 3rd largest city in China and about a 2 hour ferry ride over to Hong Kong. The temperature in the summer months, May-September ranges from 29-36 degrees and the winter months, end of November-Febuary gets as low as 5 degrees.

There will be one other foreign teacher at the school but many Chinese english teachers as well. If you would like to see some pictures of the accomodation and school campus, I can arrange that as well. I've included a link for some more information about the area.
