Due to the expansion of UCLan Joint Programmes activity in China, The University of Central Lancashire is looking for English Language Support Tutors to be appointed on a self employed consultancy basis working at various locations in China. Based primarily in Shenzhen, Beijing, Chengdu and Shanghai, the posts will focus on the provision of English language support on a range of Franchise degree courses as well as English language placement testing of applicants to UCLan courses.

The successful consultants will have a minimum of 3 years teaching experience in ELT, experience of course development, and be able to show evidence of materials writing skills and have experience of International English examinations – eg IELTS.

A knowledge of UK HE systems is necessary as is experience of working in China with Chinese HE students and an understanding of the Chinese education system. A good honours degree is required with CELTA / Trinity TESOL or an internationally recognised equivalent qualification.

The successful person will have excellent ICT skills, be highly organised with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

The fee range depending on experience and qualifications will range from £14,000 to £18,500 per annum and will be paid monthly direct into a bank account. Consultants will be responsible for paying their own locally based taxes and will be expected to enter into a Casual Consultancy Contract with the University.
