Although the pay and housing subsidy is not as high as others, the teaching hours are few correspondently. Adding 50,000 and 4,000, then divide it by 90 hours, you get 600/hour, which is as high as those in Taipei.

Further, living costs in this town are very low, which means you can actually save more money then most places you can work in.

ChiaYi's beautiful great farmland is Taiwan's major granary. Not only rice, but also fruits and other crops have always been raising most of this island's people. Agriculture is a very advanced industry in this county. A lot of farm fields lie along the road, and you can feel the rice is breathing.

People here of course are very friendly. It is not a packed town and you can enjoy privacy and peace here, however, it makes a scooter a necessity.

The tropic of cancer goes through this county, thus in summer it enjoys a lot of sunshine. There is a Tropic of Cancer Park near the city, with a dome standing right on the 23.5 latitude.

　

The well-known A-Li Mountain locates in the Chiayi county. A-Li Mountain is a very well-known and well- organized forest recreation area. Tourists can enjoy romantic sunrise, sunset, cloud ocean, mountain rails, high altitude forest and ancient trees.

Well preserved mini train nowadays still travels through the railway lying around the mountain area.

Yu-shan, meaning "Jade Mountain" in Chinese, is the highest mountain in Taiwan, with the height of 3997M, even higher than Fuji Mountain.
