Join a team of experienced, qualified Academic English Teachers working for a Chinese / Australian University Joint Venture in Shanghai.
The AIEN Institute is the Teaching Centre for the Joint Venture between the Shanghai Ocean University and the University of Tasmania, Australia. The Institute was established in 2002 and offers a four year Degree program with majors in either Information Systems or International Marketing and Management. Graduates receive a degree from each of the universities. Currently over 1600 students are enrolled. Around 1500 students have graduated from the Institute.
In the first year, the Academic English Program integrates Advanced Level General English, English for Academic Purposes and English Language Study Skills. In the second year, the English Program focuses on Business English and further English Language Study Skills.
The Academic English Teachers are supported by an experienced team comprising the Director of the English Department and the Senior Teacher.
Contracts will start in early September and be for the 2009/10 academic year. The academic year usually ends in early July.
The AIEN Institute is looking for Academic English teachers who are well qualified and experienced.
Minimum qualifications and experience required:
Bachelors degree
TESOL or equivalent internationally recognised CELTA, TEFL or ESL qualification or post graduate qualifications in English teaching or linguistics
At least 2 years experience of secondary or tertiary teaching in an Advanced Level General English or Academic English Program
