The Qingdao International Korean School is looking for qualified fulltime teachers for the upcoming school year (starting in February 2006)
Our teaching positions range from kindergarten to High school grade 12.

Qingdao is a beautiful seaside city located in Shandong province on the eastern coast of the People’s Republic of China. It is a co-host city for the 2008 summer Olympic Games and it is has something to offer everyone. Qingdao is a modern city with mountains and wilderness for great hiking only minutes away. Traditional Chinese culture with modern development growing right around it. A thriving, growing ex-pat community. Great parks and beaches. A wide range of shopping and entertainment possibilities from Starbucks and international restaurants to large department stores to bargain markets. At last but not least, a large ex-pat Korean community.

Our school is a fully accredited international school that serves many of the Korean ex-pat families in the Qingdao area. Current student numbers are 600 students thought kindergarten to grade 12 and we offer a full Korean curriculum as well as daily classes in both Chinese and English.
Our school presently employs more than 50 teachers, and the English department is comprised of 7 native speaking English teachers from Canada, America, and New Zealand. We would like to add 5 professional teachers to our team.

Essential Qualifications:

a)must be a holder of a bachelor’s degree preferably B.A English, Literature, Linguistics or B.ED or Early Childhood Education

b)A fully recognized ESL certification (CELTA/TESOL/TEFL) with at least 100 hours of in-class instruction and preferably with observed teaching practicum.

c)Minimum 2 years of professional teaching experience with reputable schools, or organizations (preference given to those with International school experience)

d)Willing to sign at least a one year contract.

e)Must be a native English speaker from: Canada, America, U.K, Australia, and New Zealand ONLY. You must possess a valid passport from one of these countries. Applicants from any other countries will not be considered

Working conditions and benefits

a)Full time work week: Monday to Friday 9-4:30pm only (weekends off)
b)Between 20-30, 40 minute periods a week.
c)Responsible for tracking student progress and administrative work (report cards...etc)

Benefit Package:

a)base salary 8500 rmb per month

Approx. 10-14 weeks per year
f)travel expenses to Qingdao
