The Introduction to Nanchang College

Nanchang College is an ordinary comprehensive college, which is funded by Nanchang municipality and approved by the National Commission of Education. Students major in the subjects as follows, literature, arts, sciences, foreign languages, engineering, economics, law and commerce etc. Situated in the western part of Nanchang, it is conveniently located for public and private transport. The campus is both pleasant and modern.

The college faculty is composed 361 persons, including 204 teachers: 64 professors and associate professors, 60 lecturers and engineers as well as two foreign teachers. Besides, more than 40 scientists and distinguished people have been invited by the college to act as guest professors or consultants.

With the rapid economic development of Nanchang City, Nanchang municipality has decided to build Nanchang Science and Technology University. Nanchang municipality has invested 200 million yuan and approved 133 hectares lands in Hongjiao Zhou to build the new campus. The other university and Nanchang College will develop into the new university. In the new campus, the first part of the construction is being done. This autumn, it can be used. Then we'll begin the second part of the construction.

Welcome the foreign teachers to work in our college. Foreign teachers normally work for a period of two years ( which maybe extended by agreement). The college also employs foreign teachers to work for shorter periods of between half year and one year.

The college provides:

• A monthly living allowance ( currently 4000 Yuan per month) in accordance with the regulations of the relevant Chinese authorities.

•Travel grant (winter vacation 1100 Yuan; summer vacation 1100 Yuan).

•The cost of medical care or expenses up to1000 Yuan every term.

•Travel between the port of entry and the college on arrival and departure.

•Free accommodation including one sitting-room, two bedrooms, kitchen, washroom, computer, TV set, refrigerator, washing machine and other daily necessities.

•Winter vacation and summer vacation and holidays in accordance with the regulations of the relevant Chinese authorities.

The salary is 4500-5000RMB a month.
