Oxford Language Center (in Guatemala City and Coban, Alta Verapaz) provides a complete package for language-learning with the highest standards of customer service. Oxford Bilingual Education Institute is our new, bilingual school located in the city of Coban. We opened in January 2009 with students ages 2.5 to 6 years old in programs for Nursery, Pre Kinder, Kinder, and Preparatoria. Each year we plan to add one more grade level up to high school, so coming up in January 2010 we will be adding a 1st grade class to our program.

O.B.E.I. is currently looking for two teachers for the 2010 school year: one for 1st grade and one for Kindergarten. Our ideal candidates would be energetic, enthusiastic, creative individuals who are flexible and work well in a group. Responsibilities include planning and delivering lessons, managing the classroom, preparing grade reports, and meeting quarterly with parents to discuss student progress. We require a minimum one-year commitment. Position starts in mid-December. The school year begins in January 2010 and goes through October 2010 (including various holiday breaks during the school year). The school day begins at 7:30 and ends at 2:00.

Qualifications:

• Kindergarten teacher:
-Early Childhood Education Degree or Endorsement required
-Previous experience teaching children is highly regarded

• 1st Grade teacher:
-Bachelor's Degree and Teaching License in Elementary Education (K-6) required.
-Previous experience teaching children is highly regarded
