PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

INTERLINK Language Centers (ILC) provides intensive English language training, academic preparation, and cross-cultural orientation programs on diverse American university campuses. In September 2004, it opened its first overseas center at Al-Yamamah College in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

An all-male, five-year institution of higher education, Al Yamamah College offers an American-style education and curriculum in English. In partnership with Al Yamamah, INTERLINK provides intensive English and academic preparation programs during the “Foundation Year” and business English throughout the students’ stay at the College. The Saudi INTERLINK program is based on the same student-centered philosophy of experiential, heuristic, needs-based learning as its US centers. Its carefully selected faculty members engage a wide variety of skills and talents to provide the best possible learning experiences for Saudi students. First-rate teaching resources, facilities, and support services are available for the faculty.

RESPONSIBILITIES: The faculty’s primary responsibility is to help students learn English either in preparation for taking academic courses at the College or for improving English for professional and personal purposes. Responsibilities include 20 hours of weekly EFL instruction, advising students on their progress, assisting students with study skills/learning strategies, and participating in program meetings and college committees. Classes may also be offered to outside institutions and to members of the business community or general public. Classes may be taught during regular school hours or in the evening. Secondary duties consist of assisting program administrators with curriculum review, revision and on-going assessment, orientation, scheduling, placement, and materials review and development.
