General overview
The Arab American University – Jenin (Palestine) was opened in 2001 and is the first private university in Palestine. The University is now looking for English Language Instructors for its English Language Center. Serving the majority of the student body, the successful applicants will be teaching English for Academic Purposes with a teaching load of 14-16 hours per week. In addition to teaching duties, it is expected that the post holder will contribute to curriculum development and the general academic development of the center. There are also opportunities to supplement your income by teaching specialized courses such as TEFL and IELTS preparation, Business English and Conversation classes to the wider community.

Qualifications
The University is looking for applicants with the following qualifications:
·Native speaker (or near native speaker) proficiency in English
·MA in Applied Linguistics, TESOL or other related field
·Minimum of two years teaching experience
·Minimum of one years experience of living in a culture different to one’s own
·Flexible personality and cross cultural adaptability
·Preparedness to deal with the challenges of living and working in a conflict area
·Applicants with a BA and extensive experience will be considered.

Compensation
Base pay is $13.000 per year, plus $300 for each year of teaching experience post master’s degree (up to $16.000). Benefits include furnished apartment with paid utilities, cable TV, round trip air ticket and eleven weeks of vacation. Optional benefits include health insurance and high speed internet connection.
