Family Resource Center Aide - AmeriCorps (Valley Hi Birth & Beyond)
Are you an energetic, hard working individual? Do you like working with children and families? Are you creative and organized? Do you enjoy working on projects? Are you committed to the job you perform? Valley Hi Birth and Beyond Family Resource Center (FRC) has two AmeriCorps FRC aide positions available that will assist with the general operations of the FRC. The FRC aide will assist with overall operations of FRC. Please refer to specific duties and skills as listed below. Bilingual applicants are strongly encouraged to apply.

Duties Include:
· Act as a resource for FRC families and the community.
· Be responsible for the infants and/or children in his/her care at all times while children are in playcare.
· Participate and assist in the planning and organization of classes and groups, including but not limited to: set-up, presentation and clean up.
· Obtain, maintain and share information for parenting groups, community resource and activity binders.
· Update bulletin boards and other materials related to site activities.
· Assist with outreach, community engagement and referrals.
· Submit accurate and timely paperwork that includes daily attendance reports, progress notes and data collection.
· Assist in transporting families to and from the FRC and other events.
· Attend weekly supervision with the Group Coordinator
· Observe child/children’s behavior and consult with Group Coordinator regarding any observations and concerns about the child’s development
· Attend appropriate Birth & Beyond trainings provided by the Family Support collaborative, the County of Sacramento and its Contractors.
· Other duties as assigned.

Desired Skills and Knowledge:
· Strong written and verbal communication skills
· ECE units or college coursework
· Knowledge of working with parents and children
· Comfort with working with families of diverse backgrounds

Required:
· High School Diploma or equivalent
· Valid California Drivers License (clean driving record) and proof of insurance

Benefits include a living stipend of $10.00 – $10.50 per hour DOE as well as an educational award upon completion of your 1700 hour service term. Medical insurance and childcare benefits are included if you qualify. Please visit www.capcsac.org to get more information on AmeriCorps.
