Loyola Marymount University, Los Angeles, CA

JOB DESCRIPTION:
•Live on-campus with program
•Plan, operate and supervise summer ESL vacation camp program on university campus
•When needed, hire and train teachers, activity staff, and resident advisors
•Organize daily staffing and activities for program
•Plan and execute transportation routes within nearest major city to sightseeing activities
•Work with AETS owner to create calendar of activities for summer
•Work within budget restrictions
•Monitor staffing
•Represent AETS to visiting overseas representatives
•Liaise with university staff and outside vendors
•Supervise staff to ensure student safety at all times
•Supervise summer staff to ensure quality of program is maintained
•Create positive environment to ensure student satisfaction

Assistant Directors (above plus the following)
•Organize all airport transfers
•In conjunction with Center Director, create interesting, varied, well-organized, fun activities
•Manage and direct Activity Leaders and Resident Advisors to plan and execute on-campus activities.
•Manage and supervise evening activities
•Report to Center Director

QUALIFICATIONS:
•Bachelor’s degree required
•Previous ESL teaching experience
•Previous camp experience necessary
•Excellent communication skills
•Demonstrable organizational skills
•Excellent multi-tasking skills
•Expert knowledge of nearest major city transportation
•Strong familiarity with nearest major city sightseeing activities
•Cultural sensitivity and ability to work with multi-cultural groups
•Native English speaker
•U.S. citizen
•Must have a cell phone
•Personal computer required for Director

TRAINING: American Education and Travel Services will provide one weekend training session May 26-28, 2006 in San Francisco, materials, manuals, etc. to operate, and 24-hour support.

WAGE:
DIRECTOR: $600 per week on-campus room and board.
ASSISTANT DIRECTOR: $450 per week on-campus room and board

NOTE: Only candidates who have lived or worked near the universities or in the cities where we operate will be considered as local staff provides added value to students. AETS does not provide for travel or moving expenses, and is not able to provide visa assistance.

OPERATION DATES:
Simmons College: June 30 – August 13 (6 weeks)
SF State University: June 23 – August 11 (6 weeks)
Manhattanville College: June 27-August 17 (7 weeks)
Loyola Marymount University: June 28 – August 5 (5 weeks)

INTERVIEWS: In person interviews at each of the locations is required.
Loyola Marymount: March 27 and 28 only
Manhattanville College: Week of April 17
Simmons College: Week of April 24
SF State University: Week of May 1

American Education and Travel Services provide on-campus staff to plan, operate and supervise the programs.
