recognized curriculum and programs for organizations such as
the Peace Corps, USAID, and the United Nations. Can you name
another TESOL program with those credentials?****LIMITED SPOTS AVAILABLE IN OCTOBER 11TH SESSION****

****1964-2004: 40 YEARS AND COUNTING - AT SIT!****
The idea of creating a 'training operations' arm of The
Experiment in International Living first came to light in
1957, The Experiment's 25th anniversary year. Programs were
developed and offered-including training of the first U.S.
Peace Corps volunteers in the early 1960s.It was not until October, 1964, however, that The
Experiment's Board of Trustees voted to establish the School
for International Training and to install its founder, Jack
Wallace, as director. Thus was the course set for the four
decades of groundbreaking international and intercultural
education offered to thousands of graduate, professional and
undergraduate, and study abroad program participants. To mark the occasion of SIT's 40th birthday, we will kick
off a yearlong celebration at Commencement 2004 by starting
our countdown to a global birthday party to be held on
October 1, 2004 (to coincide with the October Board meeting)
at SIT locations around the world. Our celebration will build to a 'grand finale' at
Commencement 2005, when the entire SIT community will look
back at a year to remember, and to the years ahead, with SIT
continuing, in new and exciting ways, its remarkable
contribution to building responsible global citizens. For more information visit our site at:
