The teacher will work with small groups of 12-13 children in close collaboration with a Slovak English teacher. The teacher will follow and co-create weekly lesson plans (English and History) for 6th and 8th grade students and will teach, create and maintain an educational atmosphere that encourages high student achievement. We offer work in a friendly and dynamic environment where English is the primary language of communication even among most of the native Slovak speakers. Team work is a crucial part of our work.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide the opportunity for all students to learn in a positively respectful supportive environment.
Assign tests, projects and other forms of assignments, analyse and post student data regarding the students performance & academic results.
Ensure effective classroom management & appropriate discipline that is aligned with the spirit of the school.
Work cooperatively and professionally with the teachers team, administration, parents, and community.
Integrate technology into the instructional program. Use the online tools for evaluation and information sharing used by the school (Edupage, OneNote, Pointbook).
Employ a variety of instructional techniques and strategies aligned with instructional objectives, in order to meet the needs of all students.
Participate in plenary meetings and teacher-parent evenings that happen twice per year.
Attend weekly professional development opportunities on Wednesdays. Participate in other job-related duties and activities related to the position.
